Anastasios Xepapadeas

Anastasios Xepapadeas is currently Professor of Economics at the Department of International and European Economic Studies of Athens University of Economics and Business and the Department of Economics of the University of Bologna (part time with parallel affiliation). On May 1, 2018 he was elected a foreign associate at the US National Academy of Sciences. He has served as Dean of the School of Economic Sciences of Athens University of Economics and Business and as Chair of the Department of International and European Economic Studies at the same University. He is past president of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economics and past Chair of the Board of Directors of the Beijer Institute of Ecological Economics of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. He was editor of Environment and Development Economics from 2005-2014 and is now a member of the editorial board.

He is co-editor of Environmental and Resource Economics, a member of the editorial committee of the Annual Review of Resource Economics, member of the editorial board of the Review of Environmental Economics and Policy and associate editor of Studies in Non Linear Dynamics and Econometrics; he has served as co-editor of the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management and associate editor of Environmental and Resource Economics and Water Resources Research. He has published more than one hundred and thirty papers in leading journals and collective volumes including the American Economic Review; European Economic Review; Environmental and Resource Economics; Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists; Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control; Journal of Economic Geography; Journal of Environmental Economics and Management; Journal of Mathematical Economics; Journal of Public Economics; Journal of Risk and Uncertainty, Scandinavian Journal of Economics, Science, Water Resources Research and written or edited eight books. According to Google Scholar, his current citations (March 2018) are 5658 and his h-index is h=38.

He has participated as coordinator or lead researcher in more than 35 research programs funded by the EU, the Greek government, or private sources in the area of environmental and resource economics. His current research interests include Spatiotemporal Analysis in Economics; Economics of Climate Change; Uncertainty, Ambiguity and Robust Control; Environment and Growth; Evolutionary Approaches to Policy Design; Environmental Policy and Resource Management; Cost Benefit Analysis; Biodiversity Management.
