ASSESSMENT:

1 Final Exam (based on the material discussed in class): Exercises on text comprehension, vocabulary knowledge, use of English, grammar.

 

OBJECTIVES:

"English I" is an introductory module that aspires to instil basic English language skills through simple business related material. Emphasis is placed on basic issues of grammar/syntax to enable students understand and use a fair range of structures. Reading comprehension and vocabulary building is a secondary goal. At the end of this module, students should be able to understand elementary English language input and communicate plainly in business related settings. At the same time, they should be able to compile short textual outputs on business related topics.
