Fotios Karamitroglou |
Personal Profile Dr Fotios
Karamitroglou holds a PhD in Language Engineering and an MSc in Translation
Studies from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology
(UMIST), and a BA in English Language and Literature from the Aristotle
University of Thessaloniki. He teaches Business English at Athens University
of Economics and Business since 2002 and was conferred the first ever Teaching
Excellence Award for Special Academic Staff in 2022. He has also served as
part-time lecturer at the Faculty of English Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Department of
English Language and Literature of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
and various other institutions in Greece and abroad. He is a member of
various professional bodies including the British Institute of Linguists and
the British Institute of Translation and Interpreting. His employment record
comprises the translation from/into English/Greek of numerous financial,
legal and marketing texts and the subtitling of various audiovisual products.
He has published sundry books and articles, amongst which the course book Essential Business Terminology for Native Speakers of Greek.
His current research interests lie in the fields of business/financial
translation and audiovisual language transfer. |
